 Updates on Subscribed Resources 

⭐ One-stop for all business resources. Share with your students:

🆕 There are many new resources to highlight (alphabetical order)!

  • PBS Video Collection: A collection of over 1,200 streaming videos produced by PBS.
  • Preqin: Private equity coverage includes details on investors, funds, fund performance, fund terms, portfolio companies, deals & exits, service providers, etc. Note that the Cash Flow module under Performance > Private Equity is available for a one-year trial period until Aug 1, 2022. Other modules (private debt, real estate, hedge funds, infrastructure, natural resources, & ESG) are not part of our subscription.
  • ProQuest TDM Studio: This is a cloud-based text & data mining tool for analyzing ProQuest's corpus of newspapers, dissertations, and other content. Their tools cater to those without coding skills and those with R programming skills. Register for a personal account using your UConn email address. If you’d like to utilize the programming workbench access, contact
  • SAGE Business Cases: more than 4,200 cases for classroom teaching. To access the teaching notes, create a profile with ☑️ SAGE Business Cases Instructor Access. Drop me a message on Teams or email me so I can provide the verification code. 
  • SDC Platinum: See my documentation on Confluence for access details.
  • S&P Capital IQ: a single platform for intelligence on both public and private companies. Includes charting tools, linking to Excel, and a mobile app.

Also: the S&P Market Intelligence platform (previously known as SNL) recently changed its name to S&P Capital IQ Pro. You’ll notice a new logo in the top left corner of your screen. Continue using your existing credentials to access the new platform.

💌 Service opportunity: The project team behind Corporate Finance, an open textbook part of the Reebus community, has just released a Call for Participation for peer reviewers. Reviewers will provide a close review of 1-2 chapters (approx. 20-40 pages total) of the book. Sign up to get involved!

Special Purpose Acquisition Company (SPAC) update to my Mar 2021 issue: now you can use Capital IQ / Capital IQ Pro to identify SPACs! Select Screening tab, then All Idea Generation Screens. There are four relevant screens you can find and use:

  • Transactions: SPACs - Business Combinations
  • Transactions: SPACs - Completed IPOs
  • Companies: Special Purpose Acquisition Companies (SPACs)
  • Companies: SPACs that have announced a merger

You can select additional criteria to add to the search after choosing one of the screens. Click on View Results to see the complete list. H/T to Marcella Barnhart, Director, Lippincott Library of the Wharton School, for the steps involved!
