Seasons Greetings

from your friends at
Cummings Graduate Institute
December 2016
Holiday Newsletter

'Tis the Season to be grateful
As the year comes to a close, we reflect on all that we've experienced over the past twelve months.  For starters, we're grateful for each of you.  We thank you for your confidence in us, the Institute, and our innovative curriculum.  Also, we want to say thank you for all that you have taught us.

In 2015, our founder Dr. Nick Cummings set out to build the kind of university that educates integrated care professionals to best deliver whole-person healthcare to diverse communities and to improve access to quality healthcare for all people.  He knew that a key component to creating such a culture within the Institute would be good people.  People who share the same vision and place the same level of importance on whole-person healthcare.  One of our core values at Cummings Institute is that we seek to listen, understand, anticipate and respond to the needs of others. We build relationships that result in life change.  Incorporating this message into the heart of our curriculum at every turn, and appealing to students, faculty and administrative professionals who identify and also value this message has been a gift - a gift that can't be bought or sold, but one of inifnite worth.

During this gift-giving season we wonder - what does HOLIDAY mean to you?
H – Holidays are upon us and we would like to celebrate with you by offering our sincere appreciation of your continued support of CGI.
O Over the last year we have celebrated many accomplishments such as obtaining 501(c)3 status, doubling our student body, and offering the lowest tuition rates of all DBH programs.
L – Low tuition rates have helped diminish student debt and given our students an opportunity to become entrepreneurs in the field of healthcare.  We believe that lives are changed when an individual is able to pursue the dream of earning a doctoral degree and grow in an ever changing healthcare field; especially if it is a position the individual created.
I – Invitations are always available for admission at CGI.
D – Do continue to grow with us as a student, partner, or faculty!
A – Aspire to be the change you want to see in your community's health! #disruptinghealthcare
Y- YOU are part of our family, and we wish you the Happiest of Holiday Seasons!
The team at CGI wishes you peace, joy and prosperity throughout the coming year!
With warm regards,
Dr. Wendy Boring-Bray

2016 Year In Review

One of the GREATEST joys we have is presenting our Annual Conference.  This year our theme was The Art & Science of Integrated Care.

Playing host (it truly wasn't all work - we must admit, planning this event and presenting was fun) to 50 attendees, we were enlightened by our colleagues, embarked on inspirational field trips, and even garnered the attention of CBS evening news.

Social media shares made our conference particularly fun for both those in attendance and those who couldn't join us in person! #disruptinghealthcare was trending on Twitter on October 14th, and we were thrilled to see our attendees participate in the #WhatADoctorLooksLike movement!

Here's a collage of images from what was a highly successful and FUN annual conference.  We are already planning next year!  Enjoy!
