On Mission in Athens, Greece
Happy December 1st friends! Has this time gone by quick for you as fast as it has for us? Some days surely drag on forever it seems, but the weeks speed by in a few blinks of the eye it feels like! Probably feels this way because our time here was so busy and packed with God-appointments and opportunity to serve and be a blessing to new friends and more contacts here in the city.

Some highlights so far...
  • My cousin Adam came to serve along side us for a week and it was an amazing time! He made many mid-eastern friends and shared the gospel from his heart, making a difference in the lives of many. Israel and Adam sat with the refugee men in the parks where they sleep, sharing hot cocoa and God's love with them.
  • Us girls were able to help host the baby shower we planned so diligently for!
  • Also, hosted some Greek men in our home for dinner, and on a different night a fellow missionary friend who was in town for a few days after he served in a refugee camp on a nearby island. One of our passions is to encourage others to stay the course and let them know they are not alone.
An incredible thing is that the
people are having dreams of Jesus coming to them.
The children are telling of these dreams as well! God loves these people and wants them to know Him like you and I do! We (the believers here) are able to confirm their dreams, show them in the Bible of who He really is and how good He is! They still have many questions but they are coming to know Jesus through the hardships they face daily.

This week the refugee center, where we volunteer, will begin the Christmas outreach dinner parties! We will get to participate Thursday and Friday! Please pray for a sweet time in God's presence, for peace and understanding for the people receiving the message of the first Christmas/Nativity program. We are believing God for eyes opened and hearts changed!

We will be wrapping our time up here next week. Its been a great trip, and extremely difficult at times. But we endured to the end!  We are ready to be home and see family for Christmas!

Where Are we Without Vision?

A few weeks ago, I battled a depression that came over me. In short, I lost sight of the vision for our lives in missions. I took distractions and made them a focal point, instead of staying the course in my heart and mind.
The Lord was gentle with me, giving me the time I needed, the faithful friends to pray for me, and the grace to continue and see outside my fog and above my fears.

I have come to a place now where my vision is not just about seeing the task at hand completed or a schedule to keep to or even just avoiding my fears. And fear tends to be controlling, and I must only give Jesus that place, He is in control.
Vision first, comes from the Lord. Then, its knowing it will take sacrifice, and that its not about me. Seeing outside yourself is a great way to get out of depression. There are ones out there way worse off, with less hope than you or me.  Remember you are valued and cherished, then you can see beauty in your pain, to love even though its not convenient, to obey the Lord even when it takes sacrifice. Because you realize you are needed, and someone is relying on you to answer the call to love, to be God's hands and feet. You and I can't let fear and defeat take place in our lives. We serve a God big enough to handle the hard stuff and all the in between.
It would be such a blessing if you would consider your end of the year giving towards this mission trip! As we have unpaid expenses and are trusting God to bring forth the funds. You can follow the link below for our organization's address to send a Tax deductible donation to. Of course Paypal is available for easy giving as well. God bless you for your service and sacrifice to the Lord.
Give Here
In the above photos we are painting hand prints to make Christmas cards with, to give to the volunteers who will cook for the Christmas outreaches! Also above, Israel and Adam with new Iranian believers and our Greek friends we had for dinner.

It has been a full trip for us! We are excited to see our new relationships grow and the seeds that have been planted and watered to flourish by the work of the Holy Spirit. We thank each of you for praying for us and the work here. The Lord has used you greatly in this mission.
May God bless your Christmas and holiday season with your families.
