Highlights
  • The Lebanese government on August 19 announced new measures in response to the growing number of COVID-19 cases in Lebanon.  These measures include two weeks of increased restrictions from August 21 until September 6.  Among these restrictions, a daily curfew is in place from 18.00hrs and 06.00hrs. Malls, gyms and restaurants will be closed, although restaurants are permitted to make deliveries between 06.00hrs and 18.00hrs. Social gatherings and events are banned. Grocery stores are allowed to operate between 06.00hrs and 17.00hrs. 
  • The nationwide state of ‘general mobilization’ has been extended until 31 December 2020.
  • Rafik Hariri International Airport remains open. Traffic to and from the airport is exempted from the curfew travel restrictions. Measures to limit the spread of COVID-19 are being intensified.
  • Health centers are open from 08:30hrs until 13:00hrs. All health centers have been triaged to separate patients with flu-like symptoms from those who have other medical concerns (NCD, maternal health, etc.). Health staff use PPE as appropriate. Patients are required to make an appointment by phone before coming to the clinic.
  • All health clinics are thoroughly disinfected on a daily basis by environmental health staff following the end of operations. 
  • LFO continues a work-from-home policy for all except essential staff.
Highlights
  • The lockdown is extended as follows; Middle, Khan Yunis, and Rafah governorates: lockdown has been extended for 48 hours until 2 September at 23.00 hrs. Gaza City and North governorates lockdown has been extended until further notice.
  • Maghazi Health centre resumed activity today with 2 shifts.
