St. Alban's Episcopal Church
This Week at St. Alban's

Monday, August 12, 2019

Dear all,

We had a great visit yesterday in church and at the forum afterward
with Sean McConnell, vestry member at St. Francis of Assisi,
Novato, and Senior Director of Engagement for
Episcopal Relief and Development. It was powerful to hear about how they've come to their current international focus on children, gender equity and climate, and the process by which projects are selected (any bishop in the Anglican Communion can bring a project for which they'd like to partner with ERD). His stories of how our support helps provide training and resources so that communities can strengthen their own leadership and build upon the resources they already have were very powerful.

And, because I have long been a fan and promoter of Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD), it was a beautiful reminder (via the Gospel for the day "fear not little flock") to hear that "you are enough" and how this message is foundational to all of their work with communities around the world.

What are your gifts, and how it the world different because you share them? You are beloved, and who you are is enough.

Have a beautiful week!
In love and gratitude,
Rev. Julie
P.S. Sean's sermon didn't make it to me by press time, so it will be linked here next Monday.
