St. Alban's Episcopal Church
This Week at St. Alban's

Monday, July 15, 2019

Dear all,

We were blessed to have the Rev. Anna Rossi as our celebrant yesterday. I was reminded again of the incredible parade of gifted clergy-in-training who, year after year, bring their blessings, their questions, and their love for God and neighbor to our community.

The gospel parable from yesterday about loving and caring for our neighbors certainly seems to have appeared at a prime moment in our national dialogue. (I use the term loosely.)

Now, more than ever, there are clear, daily choices before us: to choose love, which means recognizing and honoring the dignity of every person, or averting our eyes and removing ourselves from being of use.
I pray we each (myself included) continue, in all our actions, to choose love, and to do so freely, joyfully and with hearts of gratitude.

The five of us who are participating in the College for Congregational Development (Dani Gabriel, Chanthip Phongkhamsavath, Sondra Lavrov, John Nemeth and me) will be doing "homework" on Sunday, visiting St. Aidan's Episcopal Church in San Francisco. Steve Hitchcock will be your preacher, and the Very Rev. Peggy Patterson will be your celebrant. We look forward to coming back to share what we've learned!

Blessings on your week ahead.

In love and gratitude,
Rev. Julie
