St. Alban's Episcopal Church
This Week at St. Alban's

Monday, May 13, 2019

Dear all,

I'm out of town, and sending love to you all. I'll be back in the office for the noon healing service on Wednesday.

Many, many thanks to everyone who helped with the "garage" sale at church on Saturday. Not only did we all clear out a lot of stuff to happy recipients, we made over $1400! Special gratitude to Sandy Burnett, who put in long hours for several days, Mary Doleman, who should earn the stuff-hauling award, and everyone else who spent large chunks of their Saturday helping out!

Meanwhile, in Dani's sermon (linked below), she extended an invitation for folks to go with her Wednesday morning to be a loving presence for the immigration hearing for Victoriano. Here's the scoop:  meet Wednesday May 15, 2019 at 8:15 am outside 100 Montgomery St. San Francisco. The hearing is in courtroom 24 at 8:30 am.

On Monday, May 20, Dani and I are going to Sacramento for the annual Immigration Day rally. Want to join us?  Click here

Thank you to everyone who prayed for our meeting with diocesan staff and the Standing Committee last week. We had a positive conversation and are working to move things forward with Calliope. Please come to the Parish Meeting this coming Sunday, May 19 right after church for more news, and, more importantly, for a frank and open conversation about the parish's financial status.

In love and gratitude,
Rev. Julie

P.S. Dani's sermon from yesterday is here.

Parish Meeting
Sunday, May 19

in the Parish Hall, following worship

The budget approved in January contained a $40K+ deficit.
Please join the vestry for a meeting to discuss our current status,
and options under consideration as we go forward.

As Rev. Julie mentioned on Sunday, the most direct route
to solving our budget problem is to grow the congregation.
(It would also bring us the blessing of more wonderful friends!)

You are encouraged to think about who in your life
might find the community at St. Alban's a blessing
– and invite them to join us!
