Here is your monthly business update from the Economic Development Team at Tunbridge Wells Borough Council

Meet your new Councillors
Cllr Justine Rutland: Cabinet Member for Tunbridge Wells Town and Local Areas
My Cabinet role includes economic development, business engagement and tourism. The new TWBC administration wishes to create welcoming, vibrant and greener towns and villages in which all businesses can thrive – that includes street scene enhancements, encouraging footfall, and a business-friendly council that is your first port of call if you need advice or support. Away from TWBC, I am marketing lead at a local design agency, so I understand the value of good comms. I am grateful for all the feedback and ideas from the business owners I have met so far. I look forward to meeting more of you and hearing your views on how the council can support you and your business. And please drop me a line any time (justine.rutland@tunbridgewells.gov.uk).
Cllr Matthew Sankey – Small Business Champion
As part of the new Borough Partnerships evolution of council operations, Champion roles have been created to help support Cabinet members in some specific areas of expertise. I am delighted to have been asked to become our first Small Business Champion. In this role it is my aim to help bridge the gap between the local authority and our ever-growing community of local entrepreneurs. My goal is to develop the relationship between local business and council officers to ensure that our borough has all the tools it needs to thrive and grow. Please feel free to get in touch with me if you have any questions that you think the Council can help with. (matthew.sankey@tunbridgewells.gov.uk).
