Tunbridge Wells Jobs Fair – let us know if your business wants to attend!
The Economic Development team are currently working with colleagues from Jobcentre Plus to prepare for the West Kent Jobs Fair at Assembly Hall Theatre on Tuesday 11th October from 10 am to 2 pm. Jobcentre Plus are looking for local employers with at least 5 vacancies for the event. Please contact if your business or organisation is interested in having a stand at the event, which will be attended by at least 200 jobseekers. 
If you don't have 5 vacancies, please let us know what positions you're hiring for and we will advertise them on the jobs board at the event.
Southeast Business Boost is offering a new Enterprise Grants Programme
The South East Business Boost are offering a limited amount of 100% funded cash grants of £1000-£2000 available for businesses under 12 months old.  The business must be registered and have an existing business offer i.e., a product or service to sell. To be eligible you would need to show that the items purchased using the grant will assist in growing your business.
You can apply for support under the SEBB New Enterprise Grant Programme if you meet the following criteria:
  • Are a sole trader, partnership, limited company or a not for profit business
  • Currently have fewer than 250 employees
  • Have not received more than £172,000 in Government grants over the last three years.
  • Have a turnover of less than £43m

Kent & Medway Business Fund (KMBF)
0% loans up to £500k for Kent businesses
The Kent & Medway Business Fund is offering two separate 0% loans from £26,000 up to £500,000. Please see details on the two loan schemes below:

Kent & Medway Business Fund (KMBF)
The scheme provides 0% interest loans of between £100,000 and £500,000 to small and medium sized businesses, repayable over a period of five years following a six-month repayment holiday.

Small Business Boost (SBB)
Small Business Boost provides financial support of between £26,000 and £99,000 to small and medium sized businesses, repayable over a period of five years following a six-month repayment holiday.

Find out how your business can go green at our free event in Royal Tunbridge Wells
(Friday 30th September, 2.30 – 5 pm at the Trinity Theatre)
Our free to attend 'Going Green: Sustainable Business' afternoon will provide information on resources specifically tailored to support small businesses on their journey to net zero.
Topics covered will be:
  • An introduction to carbon accounting
  • A case study into sustainable business-best practice
  • LOCASE funding and ongoing Low Carbon Kent projects
  • The circular economy within local businesses - Upcycle your Waste (UYW)
Representatives from the Federation of Small Businesses and Low Carbon Kent will be attending to share resources, expertise and answer any questions you may have. Whilst The Zero Waste Company will be there to showcase their successful sustainable business model.

Help To Grow: Digital – get a software discount today
Help to grow: digital is a government backed, UK-wide scheme that supports eligible SMEs to choose, buy and integrate software into their business.
The scheme includes:
  • Funding to help buy new software. Receive a discount of up to 50% or £5,000 (excluding VAT) towards the cost of buying one approved software in the Help to Grow: Digital scheme.
  • Free, impartial advice and guidance. Learn more about how the software in this scheme can help your business, discover our free eLearning modules and find your software solution.
