Dairy Industry:
Promotion & Farm Safety Updates
Your ADAI team works year round to develop and nurture relationships with health and wellness thought leaders, and nothing is more gratifying than when those dairy supporters share our messages, especially while educating the media!

Check out a recent WTHR news segment featuring our friend Anna Turner, Sports Dietitian with Ascension St Vincent Sports Performance on the value of chocolate milk as a refueling beverage for athletes.

Reaching Young Families

  • The New Power Couple: We are sharing dairy stories and tips with families of young children through a great partnership with Indy’s Child Magazine. September’s article highlights the importance of Plants + Dairy, Kids’ need for calcium and sustainable nutrition. Coming up in October, we’ll share more on farm, food and fall fun at home!
  • Fuel Up to Play 60’s Digital “Homeroom”: FUTP60 has pulled together great digital resources for educators to use at school or home! The “Homeroom” offers short videos and lessons on Health & Wellness, a Greener Planet, and Building Strong Communities that are full of dairy and football fun. Each Thursday, more content will be added. It’s a homeroom you won’t want to miss!
All 21,000 Subway sandwich shops - recently ranked by Morning Consult as the #4 most loved restaurant brand - will support two Fuel Up to Play 60 promotions aimed at bringing awareness about America’s dairy farmers’ support for youth wellness and more funding for GENYOUth’s Emergency School Meal Delivery Fund. Checkoff Updates

  • Full-Fat Dairy Promotion: National Dairy Council assisted a Food Network dietitian with a story that claims “full-fat milk may be better for you than you think.”Food Network (26.6 million unique visitors) posted a story titled, Is Whole Milk Healthy? Turns out, full-fat milk may be better for you than you think. This story is a direct result of farmers’ investment in nutrition research that continues to show the benefits of whole fat dairy.
  • Farming Perceptions: For the first time in Gallup’s 20 years of tracking Americans’ views of business and industry sectors, farming/agriculture tops the list, followed by the grocery and restaurant industries.
  • Activist Alert: Direct Action Everywhere (DXE) claims it will be leading a “global lockdown”, asking legislators to adopt the “Animal Bill of Rights”. If they refuse, activists will stage “the largest ever coordinated mass civil disobedience for animal rights” on September 27 – October 4 across the country. All farms and facilities should prepare for possible activist activity and brush up on farm security protocols.
