Building Trust and Sales in Dairy

Hey New People!

American Dairy Association, Inc. (ADAI) is a not-for-profit organization funded by and serving Indiana dairy farm families. We strive to promote and educate our state and communities about the importance of dairy farming, sustainable nutrition and youth wellness. Sharing these three areas of focus with community, health professionals, educators, food service experts, the media, and others is beneficial to Indiana’s vast and vibrant dairy community.

Reaching Young Families

ADAI is sharing dairy stories and tips with families of young children through a partnership with Indy’s Child Magazine. In September, we highlighted the importance of Plants + Dairy, kids’ need for calcium, and sustainable nutrition. The October edition celebrated Farm to School Month and included farm facts, dairy processing and fall fun at home. Each month, Indy’s Child reaches over 120,000 readers with award-winning content.

National Initiatives

  • 'Gamers' part of checkoff strategy to reach Gen Z: Sustainable dairy farming and how dairy is produced is an increasingly important purchase factor for consumers, especially for Gen Z (generally thought of as 15- to 24-year-olds). To reach these important consumers, the checkoff will head where they are: the “gaming” community. DMI is building relationships with influential gamers, including some who have millions of followers on social media.
  • Meet The Taco Bell Dairy Scientist Driving Demand: Mike Ciresi, DMI senior dairy scientist, works at Taco Bell headquarters and is the creator behind the dairy-centric Grilled Cheese Burrito and The Pineapple Whip Freeze. Mike talks about taking dairy From Garnish to Main Menu Item in this interview.
  • U.S. dairy advances journey to net zero emissions: The checkoff-founded Innovation Center for U.S. Dairy unveiled the 2050 Environmental Stewardship Goals and Net Zero Initiative, an industry-wide effort that will help U.S. dairy farms implement new technologies and adopt economically viable practices. The announcement was shared by more than 100 news outlets and supported by an editorial in the Washington Post, a print and digital ad in the Washington Post and New York Magazine, and a short sustainability video on social media.
  • Checkoff is Amazon's Go-To Source for Dairy Insights: Your dairy checkoff program has a working relationship with Amazon, the top eCommerce player, through their AmazonFresh grocery delivery service. s Amazon looks to the checkoff to share our consumer research knowledge and help new members of the Amazon Fresh team understand dairy. Learn more about the checkoff program’s relationship with Amazon in this short interview with DMI’s Adam Landau, SVP of Global Innovation Partnerships Team.
