Dairy Checkoff News and Updates

Building trust and sales in dairy on behalf of Indiana dairy farmers

Indiana Cheese Trail - Visit Now!

The highly anticipated Indiana Cheese Trail launched this June to celebrate National Dairy Month! Featuring 10 dairy farms and creameries across Indiana, it designed to give visitors an immersive experience and education on dairy foods and farming. Agritourism offers exposure and potential for additional revenue, both of which are fundamental for the continued success of small, sustainable farms and producers. “The Indiana Cheese Trail is an engaging way of telling the dairy farm family’s story while shining a light on those responsible for bringing world class cheese to the Hoosier state. We created this experience as a fun way for our community to meet the faces behind their farmer’s market favorites and their grocery store selections," said Jenni Browning, ADAI CEO.

Rod’s Kitchen Activation

In partnership with the Indianapolis Colts, and our new player ambassador, Rodrigo Blakenship, we’ve created the “Rod’s Kitchen” campaign. Each month we will work with the Colts creative team to push out one of these graphics, highlighting one of Rodrigo’s favorite dairy foods/products. These will align with themed months such as Winners Drink Milk (May), National Dairy Month (June), National Ice Cream Month (July), The Indiana State Fair (August) and more!
Indiana State Fair and Dairy Bar
We can't wait to see you at the Indiana State Fair! Keep an eye on the mail for special coupons to cool off and fuel up when you visit us this year. Catch us at the Dairy Bar and around the fairgrounds, July 30 – August 22, promoting dairy products and dairy farming.
The State Fair and Dairy Bar will be open Wednesday thru Sunday and closed for service each Monday and Tuesday, along with the rest of the Fairgrounds. To make up for the closed weekdays, the Indiana State Fair will start one weekend earlier.

Responding to Natural and Unexpected Disasters

Devastating events like natural disasters, barn fires, and other accidents can bring extra attention to your farm. This resource from the Animal Agriculture Alliance provides recommendations on how to respond to the media and your community during tough times.

Registration is open for the Dairy Experience Forum, which will examine the trends impacting consumers and opportunities to grow sales. The event is hosted by New England Dairy with support from ADAI and other state and regional checkoff organizations. Dairy farmers can attend the conference at no cost - find more information here

National Headlines

  • Sustainability: The Foundation for Food & Agriculture Research (FFAR) has awarded a $10 million grant in support of U.S. dairy’s Net Zero Initiative as a critical on-farm pathway to advance the industrywide 2050 Environmental Stewardship Goals set through the Innovation Center for U.S. Dairy. The funding will support a six-year project around dairy soil and water regeneration, which will produce data to be broadly shared among the dairy community. DMI’s Karen Scanlon talked with RFD-TV about the FFAR grant and the NZI work overall.
  • Sales: It appears that U.S. dairy product demand is heading back to pre-pandemic levels and U.S. exports have reached near-record highs.
