During the last year or so since Thys and Gerrie became more involved with Dust Series and other 4x4 activities, it became abundantly clear that we needed some more bodies to assist with training and stuff.  We searched high and low, because we weren;t going to entrust Team Offroad to anybody, we were very careful to find the right candidates for the job.

After long hours deliberating, we finally decided to give Charles Muller, Ashley Wilson and Jaco van Zyl the nod to join us at Team Offroad as Training Assistants. They joined us during October 2017 and hit the ground running.

They are currently undergoing rigorous on-the-job training to become folly fledged Instructors, capable of handling any situation that can come their way.

Welcome aboard guys, we are looking forward to a long and happy working relationship.

Introduction to 4x4 Driving

The Introduction course has proved to be a very very popular training course, and during the  first 5 months of 2018 we have been busy with presenting this course to an audience ranging from complete newbies (some SO new they dont even own 4x4's yet) to "seasoned veterans" who want to know more about overlanding and brush up on their skills.  Our courses also included quite a few ladies, and they are not out-done by their male counterparts when it comes to putting the pedal to the metal, and getting the rubber to hit the ground.

Please keep an eye on our Events Calendar for future training courses.  Not only limited to the Introduction course, but also Safe Recovery Practices and we might even fit in an Advanced Driving course as well.

After the runaway success of the CooperTires Dust Series in 2017 we were off to a flying start at Honingklip in the Western Cape for Episode 1 of Dust Series Western Cape. A total of 25 entries battled it out for top honours and the coveted top 3 placings that will ensure them a spot in the Finals.

In the past we randomly chose a date that suited sort of everybody on a training course to do the Atlantis Follow-Up.  That has changed.  We do the AD Follow-up on the Sunday following the Introduction Course, unless there is a very good reason NOT to do it on that Sunday.

Our next Atlantis Dunes Follow-Up is on 3 June 2018.  Pelase be advised that we can only accommodate a maximum of 15 vehicles, otherwise things get a bit hectic.

If you are interested, please drop us an email at with ATLANTIS DUNES 3 JUNE in the subject line, and we will get back to you.

We are going dark!  Episode 2 of the Cooper Dust Series in the Western Cape is taking place on 30 June 2018.  This time the Dust Series takes you to the slate and shale of the Tankwa Karoo to test your 4x4 driving skills against the elements.  At night.  Yes, this is an all night event.  We will be driving some obstacles after dark, from about 20h00 until 02h00 the next morning.  And true to form, Gerrie and Thys are doing their level best to catch you out with their all-or-nothing approach too.  Be aware, be awake.

That is it for now.  Hope to see you soon under a tree or around a fire somewhere in the bush.
