Wayfinding Signage on Avalon Blvd

Headed to the Wilmington Art Walk this Friday, February 3rd from 6-8 PM? So are we, and we can’t wait to see you there! Stop by our booth near the food trucks to say hi and give us feedback on our design proposals for wayfinding signage on Avalon Boulevard. Through the Port of Los Angeles, we received a grant to design and install wayfinding signage along Avalon Boulevard south of Anaheim Street. This wayfinding signage will increase connectivity amongst existing amenities on Avalon Boulevard and promote pedestrian activity and the local economy. The wayfinding signage is currently in design and will be installed in summer 2017. Please e-mail Abby with any questions or feedback.

LA Grocery needs a hand

With support from the CA Fresh Works Food Enterprise Microlending Intermediaries (FEMI) and in partnership with the LA Food Policy Council & Team Friday, we are excited to support Mr. Million Sium in his commitment to bring healthy food to his South LA neighbors. To help Million prepare for intensive interior and exterior work, we are hosting a Pack Up Party on Sunday, February 12th from 10AM to 2PM at  4510 S. Western Avenue. Pizza will be provided! Please e-mail Stacey if you can make it.

ADUs on center stage

As a partner in the City's ADU pilot project, our team was honored to join State Senator Bob Wieckowski and Councilmember Gil Cedillo at a press conference this week to celebrate the new State laws that make building ADUs much easier! We shared the plans of the ADU pilot we designed and look forward to ensuring that the City's own ADU policy will maintain the progressive and inclusive spirit of state law. We believe that two-bedroom ADUs can contribute to affordable housing – while also celebrating the character of a community. Let's make sure homeowners can build a better future for their families where they can grow up and grow old together. Click here to find out the latest on the policy discussion.
Go Ave 26

Our project on first/last mile interventions around the Lincoln Heights/Cypress Park Metro Station in northeast LA has a name and official logo! Our team has been busy conducting community research with observational studies and intercept surveys with a focus on current pedestrians and transit users. Stay tuned for a community walk with local partners in a few weeks. To keep in touch and learn about our partners, join our Facebook page!
