Dr. Mike Merva of Franklin College of Arts and Sciences has been awarded the Certificate of Merit of Region 4 Excellence in Advising - Advising Administrator.
Annemarie Hitchcock of Franklin College of Arts and Sciences, Department of Computer Science has been awarded Winner of Region 4 Excellence in Advising - Advisor Primary Role.
 

Apply for the Active Learning Summer Institute by Jan. 31


Hosted by the Center for Teaching and Learning, the Active Learning Summer Institute (ALSI) is an intensive course (re)design experience for full-time faculty from across campus. This year’s Institute will run May 18 - June 4, 2020 with a single cohort of 24 faculty. During these three weeks faculty will engage in face-to-face sessions focused on successful integration of active learning strategies into specific courses.  Faculty selected for the institute will receive $7,500.

Extended Deadline: Creative Teaching Award Nominations Due Jan. 24

Don't delay! Nominations for the 2020 Creative Teaching Awards are due January 24. The Creative Teaching Awards are presented annually by the Office of Instruction to recognize UGA faculty for excellence in developing and implementing creative teaching methods to improve student learning. The award is open to all full-time faculty, including tenured, tenure-track or non-tenured faculty, and nominations are accepted from faculty, staff and students.

Apply to the Lilly Teaching Fellows Program

Tenure-track assistant professors who are recent recipients of a Ph.D. or terminal degree in their discipline or profession and are in their first, second, or third year at the university are invited to apply for the Lilly Teaching Fellows Program. Up to ten faculty members are selected each spring semester to begin participation in the two-year program the following fall. Demonstrated passion for and commitment to excellence in teaching is a key factor in selection. Apply by 5:00 pm on March 6, 2020.

Call for Proposals 

Multicultural Services and Programs invites session proposals from students, faculty, staff and community members for the inaugural Men of Color Leadership Summit at the University of Georgia, to be held on Saturday, March 21, 2020. Proposal packets should be submitted no later than January 31, 2020.
