M7 Economic Development Forum: Special Offer for Members of The Water Council
M7, the economic development partnership for southeastern Wisconsin, is holding its annual forum virtually tomorrow, Wednesday, May 26, and we think it will be of special interest to members of The Water Council. Keynote speaker Amy Liu, vice president and director of metropolitan policy program at Brookings, will offer insight on economic trends in Milwaukee, COVID-19's impacts on equitable growth and opportunities for the region. As part of that theme, she will discuss The Water Council, Milwaukee Tech Hub Coalition, the Midwest Energy Research Consortium and other efforts to form a regional tech industry cluster. She will also discuss a potential funding opportunity before Congress that would designate 18 new regions as "tech innovation centers."
Additional comments will be provided by Lafayette Crump, Milwaukee commissioner of city development. Presentations will add insight on talent trends and the Milwaukee region's competitive position.
