Switch Your Thinking

Get back on your bike for Bike Week

Bike Week is a community celebration of cycling that provides the perfect incentive to dust off your bike and hit the road! Celebrations include swap meets, film screenings, free bike maintenance, bike brekkies and community rides. Find an event near you.

Tips for getting back on your bike

  • Before taking off, check your tyre pressure, brake pads and cables for a safer, smoother ride
  • Make sure your front and back light are working and bright enough to be visible before riding at night
  • Commuting by bike? Map your route using the maps brochures and guides provided by the Department of Transport. Your cycle route will often be different to the one you drive.
  • Did you know you can now legally ride your bike on the footpath? Visit the Department of Transport for more cycling rules, standards and safety.
  • Visit Transperth for tips on taking your bike on the train
