Where are they now?
Ashleigh's story

Pregnant at the age of 14 and a self-confessed rebel, WA student Ashleigh Lindsay admits many of her teachers and even some of her family thought she would never amount to anything. But Ashleigh had a dream of becoming a lawyer.
And far from deterring her, the birth of her son Shaun made her even more determined than ever to achieve this dream. ‘I wanted to give him the best opportunities in life’, she says. ‘I didn’t want him going down the wrong path’.

From mentee to mentor - Lee Vo's full circle story

A bond that began back in 2005, the partnership between MinterEllison and Glenala State High School in Queensland has produced some incredible outcomes and inspirational stories.
One such story is that of former student, Lee Vo. Only six years old when he arrived in Australia from Vietnam, neither Lee, nor his mother, spoke a word of English. Two years later, he had topped his Year 3 class in English but by the time he got to high school, Lee admits things had started to slide.

The benefits of mentoring - Carolyn and Jennifer's story

In 2010, Jennifer Truong from Cabramatta High School was the recipient of the KPMG and ABCN Doug Jukes Memorial Scholarship – the framework of which was to inspire the launch of ABCN’s Scholarship Foundation three years later.
Although initially a three-year mentoring commitment, Jennifer has been mentored by Carolyn Ralph from KPMG now for six years. During this time, she completed her HSC, enrolled at UNSW and will soon graduate with a Bachelor of Science/Education.
