The Chosen - Showing at Saltyard

We will be showing an 8 part series of the popular TV series called The Chosen starting this Sunday at 6.30pm in Saltyard. It is the first-ever multi-season series about the life of Christ and the title of episode 3 is Jesus Loves The Little Childen.

Palmerston Place Church Walking Group

Join us for the inaugural outing of PPC’s new walking group on Sunday 22nd May.

We’ll be doing a walk of around 8 miles, following part of the John Muir Way from the canal basin to Davidson’s Mains Park. We’ll set off from the church at 12 noon, and our route will take us along the canal to the aqueduct, along the Water of Leith walkway via Saughton Gardens and Balgreen to Corstorphine Hill. We’ll climb Corstorphine Hill and then descend to Davidson’s Mains Park. We’ll finish up in Davidson’s Mains. There’s a coffee shop there and buses back into town. Anyone who would like to walk further could return by the old railway path to Haymarket.

If walking 8 miles or climbing Corstorphine Hill seems a bit much, there are numerous places to bow out.

We will be stopping in Harrison Park to have our packed lunches, and this would seem to be a convenient place for anyone from GDS to join us. We would be arriving  there between 12.30 and 12.45, and I expect we will be there for around half an hour.

If you would like to know more, please email Rachel Yule at mcphaden07@gmail.com.

Canal Boat Trip

We have booked the All Aboard Canal Boat for Monday afternoons the 6th of June and the 27th of June.  If you didn’t manage to go the last time and would like to go, please speak to Henry on Sunday or contact him on henry.hudson@churchofscotland.org.uk or 07895 228784 for more information.

Free Will Offering

Any one wishing Free Will Offering envelopes can collect them from the church - they are on the communion table at the door to the back corridor.  Alternatively contact the treasury team if you want envelopes or details of the church bank account for a standing order at treasurer@gdschurch.org.uk.

Saltyard

Our church cafe is open - selling a variety of homemade cakes, scones, soups and platters and delicious coffees and speciality teas. Saltyard will be open Wednesday to Friday 9am-4pm and the team look forward to welcoming old and new customers. Why not pop in for a lovely bowl of soup and a cuppa!? We look forward to seeing you then.
