One thing they don't teach you in school is how to talk to somebody who's dying. Should you ask them how they're feeling about their impending end? Tell them how it makes you feel? Politely avoid the subject entirely and instead make conversation about lunch? The holidays present opportunities for intimate conversation and we're all for using that space to talk about something real. Even if you don't have someone near the end, it's a good time to bring up the family conversation before it's too late.
