Mad Squirrels & Chestnuts

Autumn turned out to be a cracker: sunny, mild, dry conditions made for a spectacular display of colour down here in the Wye Valley. Perfect conditions too for a bumper crop of chestnuts from our ancient Sweet Chestnut in the copse (affectionately known as the Faraway Tree). This year there were so many even the squirrels were willing to share them.  It made a wonderful season finale watching glampers gather round the campfire to roast them.

Mad Dogs Forager's Tart

With the girls & Monty safely tucked up for the winter we've found some time to experiment with a new Autumn foraging recipe.  All the ingredients were gathered from the glampsite, Rectory veg garden and forest floor.  Bon Appetit.

Twelve Days of Glamping

And finally, time for us to get hygge: roaring fires, mulled cider and dreams of a White Christmas.  Here’s our Mad Dogs wishlist - move over Buster the Boxer and make way for Three French Bulldogs!  All together now...
Seasons Greetings from everyone at Mad Dogs.
Look forward to seeing you in 2017.
