IEEE Standards Association (IEEE-SA) Automotive Image Quality Working Group

IEEE Vehicular Technology Society/Intelligent Transportation Systems (VT/ITS)

IEEE P2020™ standard addresses the fundamental attributes that contribute to image quality for automotive Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) applications, as well as identifying existing metrics and other useful information relating to these attributes.

It defines a standardized suite of objective and subjective test methods for measuring automotive vision system image quality attributes, and it specifies tools and test methods to facilitate standards-based communication and comparison among OEM and Tier 1 system integrators and component vendors regarding automotive ADAS image quality.

How to Participate

If you have not already registered your interest and would like to participate in the Automotive Image Quality Working Group (VT/ITS/2020_WG_AUTOIQ), please contact the Working Group Chair, Robert Stead by 6 July 2016 and include the following information:
  • Your name, email address and telephone number
  • Name of your employer and job title, or other affiliation
  • Particular areas of interest and relevant background/expertise

Why should I get involved?

The P2020 Working Group will characterize the current and anticipated use cases for imaging in automotive applications, to determine the scope and extent of requirements for image quality standards. The group will then review the literature for relevant existing standards, and determine where new work is required.

Meeting Information

The initial IEEE P2020 Working Group meetings will occur as follows:
  • Wednesday, 13 July 2016 – 4:00 PM (UK Time). This will be an introductory meeting via Webex/Teleconference.  Please note: Details of how to join will be circulated at the beginning of that week.
  • Tuesday, 20 September 2016 – 9:00 AM-12:00 PM at the AutoWorld Museum, Brussels, Belgium. This will be a formal face-to-face meeting where business will be conducted immediately preceding the AutoSens automotive sensor conference.
