HealthBridge is Celebrating International Women's Day

March 8th is International Women's Day. The campaign theme this year is #EachforEqual which relates to the notion that collectively, as individuals, we can each help to create change. HealthBridge is celebrating by launching an International Women's Day social media campaign. See our Twitter and Facebook pages to follow along in celebration of International Women's Day.

Liveable Cities wows at WUF10, again!

Our HealthBridge Livable Cities program and its partners participated in the 10th Session of the World Urban Forum in Abu Dhabi, UAE! Throughout WUF10 HealthBridge staff from India, Vietnam, and Canada gave 16 presentations at 11 different sessions and discussed the important work in the area of public spaces: streets that support walking and cycling, open public spaces such a parks, playgrounds, and plazas, as well as local public markets.  
WUF10 was a huge success for HealthBridge and a chance for us to catch up with old friends and make new friends. Read more about what the HealthBridge Livable Cities Program team experienced in Abu Dhabi.

Stay Tuned for Upcoming Webinar

HealthBridge's Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn and Child Health team is developing a webinar for presentation in the spring. We will be presenting on the successes and learnings from an evidence-based and community-supported Adolescent Reproductive Health (ARH) intervention in Son La province of Vietnam. We developed and implemented the intervention in close collaboration with the community, including adolescents & teachers. We are excited to share our progress on ARH.

 HealthBridge Vietnam Wins ASHUI Award

A community garden in Tan Mai created in partnership by HealthBridge, the People's Committee of Tan Mai Ward and Think Playgrounds Tan Mai, Hanoi was selected as the Joint Effort Project of the Year on January 11th, 2020, one of ten award categories of the Ashui Awards.

HealthBridge is Co-Chair of SUN CSA in Vietnam

HealthBridge is the co-chair of the Scaling Up Nutrition Civil Society Alliance (SUN CSA) in Vietnam. SUN CSA Vietnam, part of the Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Movement, is a coalition of civil society organizations with a shared vision of improving nutrition in Vietnam. There are currently nine national and international civil society organizations in the alliance. In October 2019, the alliance was launched in Hanoi. Some of the upcoming activities for SUN CSA Vietnam include implementing a project to improve access to breastfeeding rooms and nutrition for women factory workers (with the help of a grant from SUN), capacity building, and advocacy.

IMCHA Publication

Since 2015, HealthBridge has been working in the Iringa region of Tanzania with the Institute of Development Studies at the University of Dar es Salaam and the Regional Health Management Department, under the Innovating for Maternal and Child Health in Africa (IMCHA) program. Together, they are conducting research on barriers to health services for women in rural Tanzania. Recently, the IMCHA research team published the results of a qualitative research study, Why do pregnant women in the Iringa region of Tanzania start antenatal care late? A qualitative analysis, in BioMed Central.

Ha Tran's inspiring advocacy work in our Save the Market campaign is featured in Next City's online magazine. The article details how Ha sprang to action leading a campaign to save neighbourhood public markets in Hanoi, Vietnam.
