Sign up now for January AIM Weekend!  Treat yourself to some of the best training our organization has to offer, this January. Dale Syverson, Master 700 Director of the Rich-Tone Chorus, Queen of Harmony, Judge in 2 categories, and unbelievably talented teacher and coach, will be our guest faculty!

Dale has a terrific line-up of classes and experiences for every member.

  •  Friday night we’ll all get to see, hear, and play with using different voices for different impact in an ensemble. Dale calls it “Create Your Fantasy Chorus”. Fun!
  • On Saturday, Dale will bring out the basics of vocal production in her own inimitable way. So many of us now use terms and images that Dale created to make these skills come alive, and they really work. And have you HEARD the Rich-Tones? They obviously know how to sing with ring, and we can learn so much from Dale to enhance our own abilities.
  • Sunday morning, come and watch Dale coach host chorus Diablo Vista, and test your own ears. Do you hear what she hears? Would you address it the same way? Can you take some of her advice back to your own chorus?
We’ll also feature classes presented by Regional leaders:
  • Showmanship for Quartets
  • A class especially for Rookie Sweet Adelines
  • A Mass Sing, led by Assistant Directors
  • Quartet tagging with Regional medalist Verve quartet
  • Hands-on coaching on how to use the Regional website

Young singers, ages 13-25, will be having their own classes and learning a song or two, and will be mingling with the rest of the Region in some of the classes as well. They’ll perform for us at the end of the day, and we all know what a feeling of pride and hope we get listening to the future of our art form!
We’ll also offer special sessions for Front-line Directors and for Regional Faculty, so stay tuned for separate email information. And you can sign up for PVIs with Regional Faculty, first come, first served.
And as always, January AIM weekend is focused on promoting and encouraging quartets and double quartets. Our Saturday evening Quartet/Double Quartet Parade lets newer groups get a taste of performing for a large, loving and supportive crowd, and get comments from actual judges. If you haven’t registered for the parade yet, please be sure to contact our Quartet Promotion Coordinator, Kathy Triolo.

A Word About PayPal
Region 12 has started using PayPal for advance registration payments for AIM and a few other events. September AIM was a trial run and we are working some of the kinks out of that process. We know there were some issues but overall, think that the process worked.

Using PayPal allows us to take payments online and with lower processing fees than other credit card processing companies, or event sales companies.  Using PayPal as the payment processing company allows you to use a PayPal account, or a Credit Card.  You do not need to have a PayPal account! Your transactions are secure either way.

It can be a little confusing to our users because of the way our web hosting software works. When you register, you'll receive an email confirmation as soon as you hit the submit button on the registration form. But that doesn't mean that you've completed the payment.

After using the submit button, the web page will take you to the PayPal payment page to enter payment details. At that point, you can choose to use a PayPal account or pay with Credit Card. The page looks different in various browsers but, they all have a link that allows you to pay with a CC, without setting up a PayPal account.   Sometimes it says "Don’t have a PayPal account? Pay as a guest now, sign up for PayPal later.".  Sometimes it says "Pay with a debit or credit card(Optional).  Join PayPal for faster future checkout".  But you don't have to actually sign up for a PayPal account - just fill in the information and pay with your credit card!

You aren't done with the payment until you see a payment receipt from PayPal. If you don't see a receipt from PayPal within 30 minutes, then you probably haven't finished the payment process. Make sure to check your email spam or junk folders for the receipt also.  If you don't see the payment receipt, you can also contact Pattie Hitch or Kevran Day (who is helping with the registration and PayPal integration).  We can check the PayPal site to confirm the payment.

For January AIM and future events, we will limit early registration to those that are paying with PayPal or check, as long as the Finance Coordinator receives the check a week before the event. All other payments will be on-site at the late registration prices.
