Best In Show, Multi Reserve Best In Show, Multi Best In Specialty Show American Grand Champion Gold & Canadian Champion

Africanadian James T Kirk

Jennie Behles is pleased to have Tiby come back home to Canada, he was was whelped and raised in Petawawa, Ontario by his aunties, Amy and Sanda. He is the only top dog Basenji showing today in any country that is a native of Canada.

We hope back home here after being successfully shown in the US, at 3 years of age, he will follow in the footsteps of his father MBIS MBISS Am & Can GCh. Ahmahr Nahrs the Lost Angel Gabriel the all-time Basenji Best in Show winner in Canada, and the only Basenji to ever hold a Top 10 All Breed ranking.

In the USA Tiby was awarded in fairly limited showing:
1 All Breed Best in Show
2 Reserve Best in Shows
3 Specialty Wins
23 Group placements
2 Award of Merit’s Westminster Kennel Club (including this week)
In his spare time with his US handler Sergio Espejo, Tiby enjoyed doing his work on the farm, helping to raise the chickens and peacocks. Tiby is the breed’s first gold championship in his age group. By the end of 2016 he was the overall total grand champion points holder for those dogs showing in the AKC system. He and his father Gabriel are the only father and son duo Gold Grand Champions still showing today. Gabriel just had his first Specialty win from the veteran’s class this month.

Tiby is the essence of the Basenji breed, he drips with wrinkle and moves like a hunter. He has the dark and far seeing eyes of his ancestors. This is Basenji type that comes alive in the show ring.
He has the personality of a clown. Tiby loves to carry his ribbons in his mouth, and he has never met a person he does not like.
We would like to thank all of the Judges who recognized Tiby’s qualities with Sergio in the US in 2016. We would like to thank Sergio for his professional care and presentation of Tiby.
We look forward to watching Edgar and Tiby coming together as a team, and we very much look forward to the 2017 show season here in Canada.

Behind the Scene

Cora Rempel-Langlois
English Cocker SpanielBreeder/Owner/Exhibitor
1) If you could have another breed, what would it be?
A Bearded Collie, I love the happy boisterous nature of these dogs. It is probably why we have English Cockers, always merry and happy.
2) What was the last movie you saw at a theatre?
Hacksaw Ridge, what an awesome movie, I always love a true story.
3) If you could only attend one “must do” show a year, what would it be?
There are so many show’s that I have on my bucket list to do. Being new to the sport and loving every minute, I appreciate each and every show I have attended. The people, judges and show committees all do such a great job! The people I have met through my travels I truly have appreciated meeting, and spending time with so many of them. I love watching them and their lovely dogs.
4) What show in Canada have you attended that always gives that little extra to their exhibitor’s, which makes it your favorite to attend?
Assiniboine Kennel Club, they have a lovely wine and cheese during Best in Show, it's an extra special touch and a lovely show.
5) What is you favorite dog of all time?
Being new to the sport I have appreciated so many people's English Cockers. I think my best would be my first taste of showing. I went to English Cocker Nationals in the USA and I was excited to see the Carnaby dogs. I had seen so many pictures of these beautiful cockers and was excited to see them. I really appreciated Kerri Brangers taking the time to show them to me. She was my very first encounter and was a true ambassador to the sport and world of English Cockers. So let's say my first experience was a positive one and have continued on from there.
6) What is a favorite grooming product or tool that you will not be without?
I will say my stripping knives, arco and coat handler, which was suggested to me from a professional who knows the breed very well. I have been blessed and surrounded by so many expert professionals who have helped me and who have mentored me with grooming and which products to use. I am forever grateful to all of them.
7) How do you pick which shows you attend?
I will choose a show by the location, number of shows and the judging panel.
8) Beside your dogs, what other animals do you have?
We just have our 2 cockers and I co- own 2 cockers from my first litter as a breeder owner.
9) What is your favorite beverage?
McDonald’s Diet Coke
10) Name something that is on your “life” bucket list to do?
Someday we would love to go to The Kentucky Derby. Next year or the year after will be going to Westminster Kennel Club, so that one will be checked off!

American Grand Champion, Canadian Grand Champion Excellent

Sparx Rich Dark N Delicious

Noka was born here at Sparx with a pretty impressive pedigree to live up to, his maternal grandsire is Bookie (Can GChEx Am Ch ToMar's The Fix Is In CGN, Canada's #1 Terrier, #10 All Breeds 2006), his paternal grandsire is Twister (Am Ch Regency's Twist of Fate, who until recently was the record holder for BIS wins in the US, and multi BISS at AMSC Nationals).  We feel that Noka embodies the best of both of these dogs and although he has only been lightly shown, his record reflects his quality!

We started out in 2014, when Noka turned 6 months old.  By the end of the year he had earned his Canadian Grand Champion Excellent title with a Best In Specialty Show and an all breed Best in Show, and picked up his Rally Novice title in 3 straight trials. Noka also earned his American Championship by going Best of Winners on the 2 days leading up to Montgomery County, and started on his American Grand Championship.  Noka ended 2014 as the #1 Miniature Schnauzer in Canada & #6 Terrier.

We only showed 2 weekends in Canada in 2015, while waiting for Noka to mature.  Despite this, he was still #3 Mini Schnauzer for the year.  Meanwhile in the US, Noka picked up his first Best of Breed win on the Montgomery County weekend, and took home an Award of Merit on Montgomery day.

2016 started with a bang, and Noka picked up 2 more Best in Show wins, 4 Reserve Best In Show wins, and another Best in Specialty Show, setting him up for the year as Canada's #1 Mini Schnauzer and #6 Terrier yet again, despite only being shown a few weekends in the second half of the year due to other handling commitments.  In the US, Noka brought home 3 Award of Merits and was awarded Select Dog at the AMSC Roving National at "MiniPalooza", with entries of about 100 MS on each of the 4 days.

Noka currently has 75 points towards his Bronze Grand Champion title in the US, and considering he has only been shown on Specialty weekends, mostly the Montgomery County weekend and Roving National weekend, against some of the best Miniature Schnauzers in North America, we are very honored with each and every one of those points!

Thank you to all of the judges who have awarded Noka so far, we look forward to seeing what the future will bring!
