Last week, we began the the 400th session of the Virginia General Assembly. Joining us were members of the School Counselors Association and advocates for the ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment.
Although I am also a patron of the legislation, Delegate Carroll-Foy has done a phenomenal job in promoting this resolution based on her personal experiences. She spoke passionately about her experience on the House floor.
Later that evening, Governor Ralph Northam delivered his State of the Commonwealth address during a joint session of the House and Senate. He outlined a vision to build on our successes and give all Virginians a chance to live a healthy, safe and successful life.
My committee assignments remain the same: Transportation, General Laws and Commerce and Labor. I will continue sending regular updates from the Capitol. Please continue following me.
