Summer thoughts from the European Youth Forum
(this is important)
As four years have passed since the last statutory revision, and as a sign of good governance, the Board wishes to consult with Member Organisations whether you feel there is a need to make any changes at this stage to the rules governing the European Youth Forum.

This consultation aims at informing a decision on potential changes to the Youth Forum’s statutory documents at the General Assembly (22-24 November 2018, Novi Sad, Serbia). Particularly, the consultation follows each article of the Statutes, in order to facilitate the identification of any potential changes you would like to suggest.

Deadline: 26/08/2018 (23:59 CET)

As you know, a number of key processes have been progressing quickly lately. Communications have come from the European Commission on the Multiannual Financial Framework, including Erasmus, the European Solidarity Corps and the European Social Fund+ (including youth employment), and on the Future EU Youth Strategy.
To help you and your members better understand what is included in these proposals, we have prepared two briefings, with analysis on each of the proposals and outlining what is next in terms of advocacy, available below.
We have also prepared the second edition of our ADVOCACY TOOLKIT (see below). This should help you to quickly identify who you have to talk to, what you have to say and when you have to reach out on each of the key policy areas that we are currently working on. This document is meant as a reference guide for you.

What's Next? Well the most important things you can do for our advocacy now are the following:
  1. Talk to your ministry! Make an appointment, have a phone call, send an email. Talk to your ministries at national level and tell them what we want and why it's important. Only your input at national level can make these policies a success at European level! The European Youth Forum is here to help you, and secretariat members are available to join you for meetings on key priorities in your countries if that would be helpful. Just let us know!
  2. Tell us what they say! To know how things are progressing and to focus our resources where they can be most effective, we need you to tell us what ministries are saying and doing on these issues. The relevant board and secretariat members are listed in each briefing and in the toolkit: please reach out to them and give them feedback after your communications with your ministries.

'This time I'm voting' Campaign
The European Parliament wants to build a "community of supporters" for the cause of voting at the European elections. Their campaign consists not only in getting people to vote, but also to get them engaged in convincing others about the importance of voting as well. Their message is that it's not enough to just hope for a better future, that this time we all need to take responsibility for it.
