Dear Bigs, Littles, Family, Friends, and Partners,

Summer is coming to a close and our afterschool mentoring sites are getting ready to kick-off a brand new year of mentoring fun! Know a high school student or adult who is interested in meeting once a week with a Little Brother or Little Sister? Contact Tyler Kurashige at tkurashige@bbbshawaii.org for more information about our School-Based mentoring programs across the state.

On Oahu we have a special online mentoring program for teens called the Holomua Program. Community mentors correspond with teens at Castle High School through weekly email prompts and meet in person once a month to do fun activities. The goal of this one-of-a-kind mentoring program is better college/career readiness for our students. Interested in learning more? Contact Bridgitte Daniel at bdaniel@bbbshawaii.org.

Wishing everyone a positive and productive start to a new school year,

Dennis Brown
President / CEO

Little Brother Ka’eo surprised his Big Brother Brian at his workplace to present him with the Big Brother of the Year Award on Maui. Brian was definitely caught off guard and all of his co-workers were impressed with what he’s been doing! The pair has been matched since January 2013 and has lots of adventures yet to come. Mahalo Brian!
