Dear Bigs, Littles, Family, Friends, and Partners,

Our School-Based programs across the state are in full-swing and our Community-Based programs are continuing to recruit for volunteers...especially males. Know someone who might want to learn more about becoming a Big Brother? We have 40 boys on our waiting list ready for a positive male role model to spend time with. Contact Jeff Mullis at jmullis@bbbshawaii.org or 695-4554 for more information.

Wishing everyone a fun and safe Halloween weekend!

Dennis Brown
President / CEO

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hawaii Island
Hawaii Island matches had a blast creating edible used Band-Aids and dirty Q-Tips in preparation for Halloween. Here are some great faces from a few grossed out Hilo Union Elementary Littles and Bigs! Click here for more funny photos from the match activity.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Honolulu
Many of you have met our sweet, smiling Office Manager, Kendra, but did you know she is also a Big Sister? Here is a picture from the first day they were matched and from their visit last Monday - what a four-year transformation! We are so lucky to have such great Bigs AND great staff!
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kauai
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kauai is thrilled to welcome our newest Community-Based match to our mentoring program! Big Sister Dorothy and her Little Sister Maya are off to a great start! Here’s the match on their very first meeting where they were excited to begin their journey!
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Maui
During Fall Break, Match Specialist Courtney took Littles on a campus tour of UH Maui College. They learned about all the different programs that are offered and the various activities and resources available to them once they become a student. Instilling dreams for the future and giving youth the tools to achieve those dreams is what we are all about. :)

Mahalos

Mahalo Mary Ellen Pearlman of Retro Farms for organizing and sponsoring Kauai’s “Bigs League” event and female-empowerment Pink Pineapple Project. It was a ‘A Day in Nature’ full of opportunities to engage in educational science activities and connect with the beautiful outdoors.
We are so grateful to McInerny Foundation for their recent grant to support cloud technology improvements. Our staff could not be more excited for a computer upgrade so there’s more time to focus on our Bigs and Littles!
Special shout out to Big Brother Chris of the Hilo Union Elementary program for kindly bringing mini pumpkins and paint to decorate!

Mahalo to Kauai's Big Sisters who attended the Pink Pineapple Project held at Retro Farms. Here's Maia, Tialla and Andjela assisting in planting some coffee trees.
Big Sister Pat and Little Sister Mia brought in Pumpkin Crunch they baked from scratch to share with the Maui office staff. YUM and THANKS!
Big cheers to everyone who participated in our second California Pizza Kitchen fundraiser this year! We raised $895 with your help! We are so thankful for a great partnership with CPK in Hawaii.
Skyline EcoAdventures donated ten passes for our Maui matches to attend their Haleakala Zipline. MAHALO!
Bob & Pati St. John-Payne from NEOS PRODUCTIONS donated 1600 CDs for our agency to use at events and fundraisers - wahoo!

YOUR KOKUA MAKES A DIFFERENCE THIS HOLIDAY SEASON!

Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawaii is proud to be partnering with Subaru Hawaii this holiday season for the Subaru Hawaii Share The Love campaign, which donates $250 to a pre-determined list of local nonprofits for every Subaru vehicle sold between November 1 and December 31. We are one of the lucky nonprofits selected for this generous donation.

In addition, an online contest encouraging the public to vote for their favorite participating nonprofit will be held on SubaruHawaii.com where we can win an additional $5,000 if we get the most votes!

All you have to do is go online to SubaruHawaii.com between November 1 and December 31, 2015 and vote for us. You can vote once a day, so please make sure to bookmark the page and vote every day!

It just takes a few seconds of your time — your kokua can help us win and continue to strengthen our programs that ultimately make a positive impact on so many local island communities.

Remember, visit SubaruHawiai.com every day and vote for Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawaii.

Mahalo nui for sharing the love!
