Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hawaii Island
On April 2, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hawaii Island started an afterschool mentoring program at Keonepoko North, the temporary campus for roughly 620 students as a result of Kilauea’s June 27 lava flow. The campus is made out of seventeen temporary classrooms set up in a parking lot of Kea’au High School. Pictured here is one of our newest Keonepoko North matches, Little Sister Shylynn and Big Sister Lorelei.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Honolulu
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Honolulu is proud to present the 2015 Big Brother of the Year award to Robert Jediny. Rob and his Little Brother Joshua have been matched for 7 years! Josh is one of nineteen siblings, so having his very own Big Brother give him undivided attention was very special. The collage above shows some of the pair's favorite moments together throughout the years.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kauai
In honor of Earth Day, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kauai partnered with the Surfrider and B-RAD foundations by participating in a beach clean-up at Donkey Beach. The matches collected nets, ropes, plastic and even a mini buoy.

Mahalo nui to all who attended our first ever "Be A Jerk" community party and mural reveal, which celebrated the completion of our 10-week county grant project to educate the community on the risks of under age drinking and enlist all adults to "be jerks" by not providing anyone under 21 alcohol.

Mahalos

The Freeman Family Fund and Na Lei Aloha Foundation contributed $31,000 and $25,000 respectively to fund mentoring programs on Hawaii Island. We are so thankful for their generosity! Pictured here are Little Brother Keane and Big Sister Alyssa, one of the many matches this funding supports.
Mahalo to our Regional Board Members who continue to support our mission and efforts on Kauai each and every day - We appreciate you! Pictured here are the Regional Board Members that attended the 6th Annual Bowl For Kids' Sake Mahalo Party that was held on April 22nd at the Ho’okipa Cafe.
UH Athletics offered a discount group rate for matches to attend Senior Night at the UH men’s volleyball match vs Stanford on April 11th. There were smiles all around from our Castle High School matches.
Mahalo to everyone who supported the California Pizza Kitchen fundraiser on April 14th. We were able to raise a little more than $800 for our mentoring programs! California Pizza Kitchen also offers a free meal to one of our matches each month - we are so thankful!
For the second year in a row, Maui Zipline Co. is offering free zip-line activities to all Maui Bigs and Littles during the month of May!
Little Brother Ryan and Big Brother Casey flash shakas and smiles while eating burgers and fries. Hard Rock Cafe Honolulu generously treats our matches to a couple lunches a month at their Youth On Stage Sunday concerts. Our partners rock!
Sammy’s Aloha Watersports offers free windsurfing lessons to matches twice a year. Here's Big Brother Jody and Little Brother Sky at their lesson last month.
