Dear Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawaii 'ohana,

Tomorrow is #GivingTuesday - a day following "Black Friday", "Small Business Saturday", and "Cyber Monday" - where people come together from across the world to give back to nonprofits. Please help us make this holiday season special for the keiki in our programs by making a donation at www.bbbshawaii.org and spreading the word about your participation in this global day of giving...don't forget to use the hashtag #givingtuesday and encourage others to join the movement!

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hawaii Island
Bigs and Littles on Hawaii Island gave thanks by making Thanksgiving trees to celebrate the holiday season. Each participant wrote one thing they were grateful for on their leaf for each week of November and then taped it to the tree, creating a beautiful display of appreciation!

Seven matches from the Holomua program had their monthly meet-up - this time at the Spalding Art Museum in Makiki. Matches enjoyed the main exhibit reflecting on messages in visual and written texts and also had fun exploring the sculpture gardens together.

Mentors from Waimea High School and their mentees from Kekaha Elementary School participated in a theatre workshop conducted by The Covenant Players Production Team. The workshop incorporated exercises that brought out a playful side of the children while also building self confidence, public speaking skills, and self expression. Here's a picture of Little Brothers Ben and Kolai showcasing their acting skills as Big Sister Erika looks on...

Future Big Sister Kayla held an "Inspiration Hour" at each of our three mentoring sites on Maui last week. She discussed the positive aspects, challenges, and importance of school and how it will be useful in the future, and role models/mentors in people's lives. These sessions will lead up to a fun event called Project Inspire that will take place at the Hale Makana basketball court on December 19.

YOUR KOKUA MAKES A DIFFERENCE THIS HOLIDAY SEASON!

Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawaii is proud to be partnering with Subaru Hawaii this holiday season for the Subaru Hawaii Share The Love campaign, which donates $250 to a pre-determined list of local nonprofits for every Subaru vehicle sold between November 1 and December 31. We are one of the lucky nonprofits selected for this generous donation.

In addition, an online contest encouraging the public to vote for their favorite participating nonprofit will be held on SubaruHawaii.com where we can win an additional $5,000 if we get the most votes!

All you have to do is go online to SubaruHawaii.com between November 1 and December 31, 2015 and vote for us. You can vote once a day, so please make sure to bookmark the page and vote every day!

It just takes a few seconds of your time — your kokua can help us win and continue to strengthen our programs that ultimately make a positive impact on so many local island communities.

Remember, visit SubaruHawiai.com every day and vote for Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawaii.

Mahalo nui for sharing the love!
