Justine Espiritu (BBBS Case Manager) and Kendra Chong (BBBS Administrative Assistant and Big Sister) interviewed Big Sister Stacy and Little Sister Sydney  for an episode of Community Matters on Thinktech Hawaii on December 17. Kendra gave background information about the agency's mentoring programs and shared her experience as a Big Sister herself. Stacy and Sydney discussed what they have enjoyed about their match together in the Holomua program, the pilot mentoring program focused on college and career readiness for Castle High School students. Breakfast With Santa
MAHALO to Julian Gilliam with The Smile Lab for creating this fantastic video of Kauai's Breakfast with Santa event!
Kaua’i Family Magazine held their annual Breakfast with Santa event on Saturday, December 5th with all proceeds benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kauai’s programs. It was a magical morning filled with photos of Santa and his elves, a delicious breakfast buffet, stories, songs, entertainment, face painting and crafts for the keiki!
Down to Earth hosted the Holomua program at their Community Kitchen for a private cooking class! Matches received a hands-on lesson in preparing calzones with fresh and organic ingredients and bonded over learning how easy and versatile homemade dough can be. The best part? Matches were able to enjoy the fruits of their labor immediately following the class.
Our Maui Mentor Center keiki were over the moon about their Christmas gifts thanks to Maui United Way, Friends of the Children's Justice Center and generous donations from all around Maui! Thank you to everyone who donated - our keiki are beyond grateful!
Mahalo to Chrissy Schechter from Kauai Family Magazine, Mark and Wendy Oyama with Mark’s Place & Contemporary Flavors Catering, Eric Hanson from Gaylord’s at Kilohana, Tiffany Dodge and her beautiful dancers from Aloha Dance Studio, Addy & Julian Gilliam from The Smile Lab, Rhye and Nate Daub, Kauai’s FM 97, 2016 Miss Garden Isle Teen USA Marli Genegabuas, Elves David Braman and Tanner Hubbard and all of the families for your generous support, donations and successful Breakfast with Santa!
Our matches are so excited about Subaru's "Share the Love" campaign! Here's Big Sisters Shania, Brooke, and Taylor representing from Waiakea Elementary's mentoring site.

LAST DAY TO VOTE!

Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawaii is proud to be partnering with Subaru Hawaii this holiday season for the Subaru Hawaii Share The Love campaign, which donates $250 to a pre-determined list of local nonprofits for every Subaru vehicle sold between November 1 and December 31. We are one of the lucky nonprofits selected for this generous donation.

In addition, an online contest encouraging the public to vote for their favorite participating nonprofit will be held on SubaruHawaii.com where we can win an additional $5,000 if we get the most votes!

All you have to do is go online to SubaruHawaii.com between November 1 and December 31, 2015 and vote for us. You can vote once a day, so please make sure to bookmark the page and vote every day!

It just takes a few seconds of your time — your kokua can help us win and continue to strengthen our programs that ultimately make a positive impact on so many local island communities.

Remember, visit SubaruHawiai.com every day and vote for Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawaii.

Mahalo nui for sharing the love!
