The Kanaka Hekili Motorcycle Club held a Hoku BBQ chicken sale fundraiser on Saturday, May 16th, raising $547 for our mentoring programs. Mahalo to the club and to everyone who participated!

Last Saturday matches on Oahu were treated to a tour of the Waihee Watershed Tunnel thanks to Arthur Aiu and the Board of Water Supply. The tour included a short, easy hike to and from the tunnel, a 1,500-ft. hike inside the tunnel and lunch back at the park.

Mahalo to DOE Kaua’i Superintendent and Regional Board Member Bill Arakaki and his team for giving us the opportunity to partner with them in serving Kauai’s students; Jan Esaki and the Janitors from Kapa’a Elementary and Erika & Armethia from Kekaha Elementary for working collaboratively to help bring mentor services to their campuses; Waimea and Kapa’a High School staff for their support in recruiting quality and committed mentors; and Major Aguilar from the Waimea ROTC program for encouraging his cadets to serve and making it possible for them to do so!
