Refurbishment of this Lutyensesque water tower to a former private school, radical updating of awkward spaces on four levels - feature window cowl and stair in matching mild steel fabrications - both requiring careful FE modelling.

A large basement was created under the full area of this detached Victorian property in difficult water bearing granular soils, also involving substantial re-modelling of the existing spaces and a substantial contemporary extension shown above during construction.
Awkward structural modifications to an 80’s flat slab required careful FE modelling and specification of composite acting plate bonded steelwork to control induced deflections when enlarging the existing stair void.

Recently came across Dominic Stevens Architect, and was inspired by his works and writings; amongst these his 25k euro self built 2 bed house shown alongside.
