This time of year can tend to be challenging for educators, specifically teachers. There tends to be a temporary dip in mood. The holidays have come and gone, maybe some well-intended new year resolutions have faded into memory, deadlines lurk around every corner, and the winter weather adds layers of clothing and reason to duck away in the warmth of privacy. This is the time when our teachers need a boost of positivity and a reminder that many of all the great things they have accomplished already this year…

Three More Parents Needed to Serve on Next Year’s PFC Board!

It's time to step forward for the Harvey Milk Parent Faculty Club (PFC) 2017-18 board. We have spoken with all nominees, and need three more parents. Positions are:

• President (volunteer needed)
• Vice-president 
• Communications
• Recording Secretary (volunteer needed)
• Treasurer (volunteer needed)

HMCRA Black History Month Honor Roll & Celebration
Friday, February 24th
@6pm in the school cafeteria

Food and refreshments will be provided for all. The event will have multiple performances and speakers from the community to help us highlight the achievements of many of our black students. This event is planned to include the entire HMCRA community.

The survey Deadline has been extended! Take the Online Parent Survey before the end of day this Friday, February 3. The two grade levels with the most responses will win a Pizza Party!

Steve & Kate’s Free Date Night
February 14th from 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm

If you haven’t quite nailed down your plans for a mid-February date night, let Steve & Kate’s help with the kids. Drop your kid(s) off for up to 3 hours and enjoy a night out. We’ll have crafts, a private screening of Kubo and the Two Strings, animation stations, and board games. We’ll even take care of dinner!

Just like camp, kids age 4-12 are welcome, and drop off and pick up are flexible. Due to staff availability, we will cap attendance at 45 children. If you want to have your child(ren) join us, RSVP today. We'll send more details closer to the date.

Shelve Books: There are a ton of books on the blue cart - just shelve them in Dewey Decimal order (it's easy, just look at the spine labels) or in appropriate bins

Straighten Shelves: The books are a mess! Make sure they are shelved neatly, and in the right place

Lost & Found

A reminder - On the last Friday of each month, clothes on the Lost & Found shelves by the elevator on the ground floor will be donated to Goodwill. Please find any lost clothes you might have and take them before the last Friday of the month.
