Our School Tour organizer, Dee Donovan, is looking for Tour Guides to conduct tours of Harvey Milk. Tours happen from Oct-Dec on select Thursdays. They start in the morning and last about 45 minutes. Dee has everything well organized, including a "cheat sheet" you can use to answer questions that many parents have.
Kinder parents - this is a great volunteer opportunity. We know you just started, but by time the tours start you will know a lot about the school and be a great resource. We try to pair a Kinder/1st grade parent with a veteran parent for the tours.
When: select Thursday mornings Oct-Dec
What: Help conduct school tours
Movie Night is September 30th.
Organizers needed for this event.
Movie night is a great community event that just takes a little bit of organization to happen. We need one or two parents to organize the event under the guidance of our events coordinator, Vashti Ferguson. This is a great first-time organizing opportunity for 1st or 2nd grade parents. We'd like to have organizers signed up by the end of this week.
Our Annual Giving Campaign begins Sept. 6th at Back to School Night. Once it begins, we need helpers throughout the campaign to promote and encourage participation by classroom (awards for 50% or more participation), update the fundraising 'thermometer' on website and banner, and handle donation receipts.
This is a great opportunity for you to come and visit your children’s classroom, meet his/her teacher, and find out valuable information about grade level curriculum and classroom specific topics. It is also a wonderful chance for you to become familiarized with your child(ren)’s daily schedule and routine, get to know the teacher’s expectations for the school year, and meet other parents in the same class.
