ECO-Innovation Project „RUN”
Network of collection points expanded

The goal of the RUN project is the collection, quality-controlled refurbishment and remarketing of notebooks from private households.
In Germany, RUN offers the free-of-charge send-in of notebooks for this purpose, with a creation of the shipping label on the RUN website:
https://return.reuse-notebook.com/
Next to the possibility to send in notebooks, they can also be handed over at collection points. The RUN project is happy to announce that the network of collection points could recently be expanded.
In Vienna, 38 collection points were established at all locations of the Wiener Volkshochschulen. Information about collection points as well as about the realisation of the project in Vienna can be found here: http://www.vhs.at/nettbooks.html

In Germany, the following partners could be won to act as collection points: Most recently, the GIB Entsorgung Wesermarsch became a partner of RUN. As part of GIB’s waste prevention measures, they accept notebooks at 5 collection points and hand them over to the RUN project for reuse. The first batch of collected devices was handed over to the RUN project coordinator.

To increase awareness of the RUN system, various advertising and public relations measures have been set up and implemented.
For example, the project has been introduced at various national and international events, most recently at the meeting „Erfolgreich am Markt“ organised by the business development agency Wesermarsch.

A collection campaign including all its members was organized by the Computerclub of Brake. The RUN project coordinator informed about the project and the importance of reuse and the conservation of ressources at an information event open to all members of the club. After the event, the collected notebooks were handed over. The club attached great importance to the provision of the data erasure confirmation, which it received and made available online.
