Hi Adventure Philanthropists!

This weekend is both National HIV Testing Day and National Sunglasses Day. Which pretty much means we should all go out and get tested for HIV / AIDS while wearing our most stylish sunnies!

Not yet been tested? The Center for Disease Control recommends everyone ages 13-64 get tested (that’s pretty much all of us!). Tests are available at your doctor’s office, health clinics, mobile testing vans, or via an at-home test kit.

Photo of the Week > Sumatra Fisherman

Found this photo in my archives. At first I thought it was taken about 8 years ago in Zanzibar, but I actually think it was snapped more than 20 years ago during my first trip to Indonesia. I believe it’s a fisherman off the coast of Sumatra.

Next week I’m headed off on my 2-week road trip. In anticipation of all the quiet time ahead, I’ve loaded up on books.

Luckily I found a dozen via ‘’free cycling” -- NYC residents donating unwanted goods on their stoops for us pedestrians to take.

Free books y’all -- Now that’s a good day!

See ya on the road,
