Hi Adventure Philanthropists!

July 4th in America is all about celebrating freedom. And so for my Adventure Philanthropist: More Fear donation this month, I’ve chosen the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) to receive 100% of the profits of all sales of this bonus eChapter.

I chose the ACLU for a couple of reasons. First, I’m a long-time member and heartily support their mission of defending the individual rights guaranteed to every person by the Constitution and laws of the U.S.

Second, the ACLU recently released a free smart-phone app called Mobile Justice that allows people to send cellphone videos of police encounters to the ACLU automatically. It’s available in 7 states, along with a Stop & Frisk app for NY.

I’m happy we have this new technology to protect our personal liberties, but sad we need it. At least this gives individuals another layer of protection.

And now for the articles this week:

New Post  > My Childhood Trifecta

I’m often asked why I’ve dedicated my life to giving back. The truth is that my giving comes from a place of gratitude. I feel incredibly lucky to have the life I lead and I credit much of my personal success from three advantages I had growing up…

Fav Post  > My PBS Sponsorship of Nature

I’m 9 months in to my sponsorship of the PBS documentary series NATURE, which brings the beauty of the natural world into our homes. Here’s why I’m spending my own money to help keep this show on the air and a glimpse at my two on-air sponsorship spots...

Photo of the Week > July 4th in Jackson Hole, WY

I took this photo a few years back during a road trip around the American West. I was in Jackson Hole, WY and went to a local rodeo. The festivities were filled with pageantry (and prayer) and offered a true look at life in small-town America.

True to form – I’ve taken off again!

I’m on a road trip to explore the beautiful national parks of Zion and Bryce. But no fear, I’ll be back again in a week or two … I think(!).

Happy 4th!

See ya on the road,
