Hi Adventure Philanthropists!

This week I had my mind stretched is multiple directions—in a good way!

One of my new discoveries was the world of virtual reality film where you put on a headset and can see the film from all 360 degrees.

To have this incredible experience, you first need to buy a virtual reality viewer like the Google Cardboard (cost $15), which connects to your smart phone.

Then you need to download a virtual reality film app, giving you access to a plethora of virtual reality films. You can view everything from the latest Paul McCartney concert to summiting Mt. Everest.

My favorite was my friend Barry’s film that he made for the United Nations. It’s called Clouds Over Sidra and features the life of a 12-year old girl living in a Syrian refugee camp in Jordan. Truly mind boggling.

And now for the articles this week:

New Post  > Cuba's Art Culture *Videos*

Cuba has a vibrant arts culture and one of the highlights of my recent Cuba trip was our visits to local art studios, where we got to meet the artists and talk to them about their inspiration. Here’re just a few of my (now) favorite Cuban artists. p.s. Don’t miss the videos of the artists introducing us to their work!

Fav Post  > MESSAGE from Nepal

With Nepal in the news, I’ve been thinking of my time spent in the country, particularly Pokhara, Annapurna’s main city. Historically, it served as a stop on the trading route between India and China and it still retains a small-town charm. Here's why I like it so much:

Photo of the Week > Surprise Reader

While visiting my family in Florida, we surprised my nephew Jacob by arranging for me to come to his classroom as a guest reader. It was so sweet to read to this engaged group of 6-year olds. Here he is, sitting right beside me while I read from his favorite book called Champ.
Don’t forget, this month’s More Fear beneficiary is the Baltimore Community Foundation with 100% of the profits from the sale of the eChapter helping to rebuild the city after the recent riots.

This weekend, why not get outside and share your talents with others?! I will be – helping out in an Oakland community garden with my buddy Aura. FUN!

See ya on the road,
