MUV 2017 Newsletter
Friends and Colleagues,

Thank you to all our speakers, panelists, sponsors and attendees for participating in the 2017 Underwater Intervention Manned Underwater Vehicles (MUV) Symposium! This year marked the 14th annual meeting of our MUV Committee, where we bring together our global community of manned underwater vehicle manufacturers, operators, engineers and support technology companies. Once a year for three days, we convene, network and discover innovations and best practices from around the world.

This year’s robust program consisted of  29 presentations, with 35 speakers from 12 countries. Our engineering technical tracks continue to be a resource for other subsea industries, including the ROV, AUV and commercial diver community. With that in mind, and to facilitate greater collaboration outside of our MUV track, we moved several of our technical tracks to the showroom floor. This was a great success, and we will look to expand this effort next year with a diverse range of panels that will include ROV, AUV, and commercial diver industry participation.

Collaboration, innovation, and access are all key values built into the fabric of our MUV industry. With that in mind, we have expanded our website in the hope of being a significant resource to our membership. Presentations, proceedings, best practices and new applications are just a few of the elements you can now access through our website. Also, we have introduced a new library section and expanded the photo gallery from the UI event. We recommend you check out these exciting changes using the links below.

In closing, we believe in the power of connections, collaboration, and discovery as we work together to advance our industry. Our committee will continue to build on the success of past events. However, your input and recommendations are always welcome to help strengthen our program next year.

Finally, 2018 will mark a significant milestone for our Committee. It will be our 15th year celebrating our program! As we look forward to our program for UI 2018, you may be assured we will have something special planned for next year.

Thanks again for your support, participation, and contributions to our industry.

All the best in 2017,

William Kohnen
