Building Updates!

Some of you have seen snippets of the construction that's been happening down at camp over the course of this winter. Unlike other years, in which we would typically spend the winter in Montreal, this year, we have spent time down at camp almost every week since mid-January.

Jason Taylor, and his team from Construction TG have been hard at work demolishing the interior of the Harple basement, building new dorms, and constructing our new girls bathroom.  We are grateful for their expertise and willingness to spend time away from their families to be a part of what is happening down at camp.

So here is an official update on the building projects along with photos to show for it!!

Staff Housing - Harple Dorms
We have renovated the basement of our Harple building, which was previously known as the girls bathroom, to provide more staff housing for the girls.

Here's what the Harple girls bathroom looked like before renovations...

A big thank you to Jack McNeill (and support of his wife Christel) for his determination, attention to detail, and the time he took to make bunk beds for the new Harple dorms.
Here's what the Harple basement looks like after renovations!!

Harple Dorms: Entry way
Harple Dorms: Small room sleeps 4 staff
Harple Dorms: Large room sleeps 8 staff
Harple Dorms: Two identical bathrooms
All that's left to do in the Harple Dorms is laying a floor and sealing the wood (maybe a Work Day project)!
New Girls Bathroom
The construction of the new girls bathroom is underway. Located at the far end of the playing field, the new bathroom resembles the design of the KYBO Blenkhorn Building. The building will provide more toilets, showers, and space, as we continue to increase the number of staff and campers each summer.
There will be a porch on one side of the building, overlooking the cabins and the lake!
