Salvation Army Foodbank Services Still Available By Appointment

Last week the website of the York Community Church of the Salvation Army suggested all operations were suspended.  Based on that, we did not include their information in the article on foodbanks.  The site has now been updated to clarify that despite worship services being suspended, foodbank and other services are still ongoing online or by appointment.  This information was correctly reported in MDCA's area survey of activity which is still available at

COVID-19 Analysis by Community

Toronto released community covid-19 analysis a few days ago, showing a concentration in the northwest.  Mount Dennis has many institutional cases and average community spread. WestonWeb has a great analysis (

Toronto Library 'Returns', Curbside to follow 
Nora, our hard-working librarian, has confirmed that the outdoor drop box at Mount Dennis Public Library will be unsealed on June 1, to allow the return of library books.  Still no announcement on curbside service to borrow books though!

The small businesses that line Weston Road and give it its character have been having to adapt to the pandemic and its new rules. Many began to provide take-out service quite soon after the shut-down, and others started as soon as the Province announced that stores with sidewalk access could re-open. Some local retail stores are operator-owned, but others have had to negotiate with landlords...... (Read more by CLICKING HERE )

Come Visit !      
The Mount Dennis Neighbourhood Centre, located at 1269 Weston Road is happy to announce that our Community Kitchen is up and running with social distancing measures in place.  Take-away meals will be served on Saturdays and Sundays.  Our Sunday night dinner is served from 5:30-6:30 pm and Sunday brunch will be served from 10:30 am-12:30 pm.  All other programs are suspended until further notice, however if you should require assistance or support please call (416) 527-3230.
