Dennis Avenue School Meeting Tuesday 25th

As you may know, Toronto District School Board plans to build a new Dennis Avenue school.  During  construction, Dennis students may be using the building now used for the Rockcliffe Middle School. The Middle School is also under review.

Councillor Nunziata is organizing a meeting for the evening of Tuesday February 25th to discuss the situation.

Good News , BUT …!
So the good news is that on January 29th City Council APPROVED the recommendation that a crosswalk be installed on Eglinton opposite Pearen Park, near the bus stop that serves the big apartment buildings on the south side. (This is the area where a local resident was struck and killed two years ago).
The “BUT” part is when (or even if) this will actually happen.  The report states that: “installation will be considered in 2021, subject to the availability of funding and competing priorities”.
MDCA encourages local residents to help us keep the pressure on our Councillor and City officials to make sure this actually happens before someone else gets injured or killed.

Any Advice for our New Board?

MDCA’s new Board, elected at our arts and culture AGM last year, is now settling in and about to have its second meeting.  Planning the Association’s activities for the rest of 2020 will be a key part of the agenda.
