Slow Down, and Take a Finals Study Break

The library is hosting Finals Week events for School of Health Professions students Monday December 10th through Friday December 14th. This includes study treats in the evenings, and activities to help students relax before finals.

After Hours Access
This semester will be the first for students to register for After Hours access to the library. This allows MD Anderson students, and employees to access the library Monday through Sunday from 7:30am - 10:00pm.

Hot Cocoa Bar
Tuesday, December 11th we'll be celebrating our students with a hot cocoa bar. Stop by for a quick refreshment, and check out our holiday decorations.

Data Availability in PMC
Data Availability in PubMed Central

PubMed Central (PMC), the full-text article repository hosted by the National Library of Medicine (NLM), will now aggregate data citations, data availability statements, and supplementary materials when available.  You can limit your search in PMC to those records with Associated Data.  This change is part of the 2018 NLM Strategic Plan to making data findable, accessible, interoperable, and re-usable (FAIR) in order to “help users more readily find the datasets they need to further accelerate discovery and advance health.”

For more information about data repositories and best practices for citing and sharing data, see the Research Medical Library’s website for Data Management.
Literature Reviews Class
Literature Reviews Class

Preparing a conference presentation, writing an article, starting a thesis, or planning to teach – all require a thorough literature review.  This workshop will teach you the steps for a comprehensive literature review with hands-on experience searching MEDLINE (using the Ovid interface) and SCOPUS databases.

Register here to attend this class.
