Learn about intersectional data analysis in our new workshop

 Wednesday 29th March, 10:30am - 12:30pm

Intersectionality is increasingly a buzzword - but undertaking multi-dimensional data analysis is easier said than done. With more funders collecting equity data, and the DEI Data Standard guidance recently updated to reflect this, learning how to interpret, use and present equity data is more important than ever.

Join us for this practical, interactive online workshop, with our Chief Executive Tania Cohen, where you’ll learn about the common challenges and pitfalls in analysing intersectional data, and explore how to use and report on multi-dimensional data.

Updated guidance for funders on sharing grants for onward distribution

We’ve updated the 360Giving Data Standard to allow funders to declare when grants are intended for onward distribution, with new categories that describe the type of regranting. This will make it easier for people using the data to understand the flows of funding, and avoid the risk of double counting money awarded in a particular area or theme, as we described in our blog on regranting. Read our Guide to Regranting for information about how to use the new categories to describe your grants for regranting, and to understand more about others’ grants categorised in this way.

News from the sector: Unleashing the power of civil society

The final report from The Law Family Commission on Civil  Society, ‘Unleashing the power of civil society’ calls for more strategic  investment from funders and the government in the productivity of the social sector, an increase in partnerships between civil society and  business, and importantly for 360Giving, better and more accessible data available about the sector to create the change.

The findings of this research recognise that more timely and high quality data is needed to inform decision-making in the sector and ultimately to provide more targeted support to communities that need it most. We are pleased that the report recommends that funders and wider civil society engage with 360Giving and other transparent data initiatives to share their data, support greater impact and drive decisions.
