Started strong

Firstly want to give a big thanks to everyone who's helped over the last 6 months; re-tweets/spreading the word/turning up/getting involved etc...

Going forward

I'm on a mission to get things a little more organised over the next few months, getting speakers lined up to talk and general house-keeping to make sure we provide the best community support we can to developers in Aberdeen.
As part of this we are looking for local speakers to give talks at the meetups; this is an ideal way to get some practise with public speaking in a "non-threatening" environment. I'm also looking at better ways to promote local devs and help you make a name for yourself!

More than a face-lift

We're going to be getting a swanky new site in the coming month(s). As part of the new site I'll be rolling out a few new sections; some of these require some input from the community so hope people get behind them.
  • Schedules for all planned future meetups, including bios of speakers and details of any talks.
  • Integrating EventBrites booking system onto the site directly for easy RSVP.
  • Code of Conduct for attendees.
  • Sponsors section.
  • CFP form to let anyone quickly submit an idea for a talk.
  • Videos/Slides from talks done at the meetup.*
  • Community blog.**
* Slides/videos from talks will be posted to the site (where available) and we will be promoting use of to get feedback from talks. If you're interested in giving a talk at a meetup email me with a brief outline of your suggested topic and availability.
** Starting a blog! Have something to say but not much of a talker...? Get in touch and we can work something out, either promoting posts on an existing blog or doing a guest post for AberdeenPHP.
