What's going on at TTM?

We are in the neighborhood!

We delivered 125 children / 52 households the education kits that we prepared with the support from Kahane Foundation, in order to use them during the workshops we continue online! We hope that these kits, which include various stationery and books, from play dough and crayons, to abacus and crêpe paper, will provide convenience to the children and their families under pandemic conditions. We want to thank once again to Meav Publishing, Nesin Publishing House, Kırmızı Kedi Publishing House and Günışığı Kitaplığı Publishing for books, Municipality of Şişli for vehicle support and Friedrich Ebert Stiftung for medical masks.
TTM Kids

Even though we cannot walk around the neighbourhood with cameras in our hands, the Photography Workshop continues online! In the workshop, we cover subjects such as photography techniques and perspective through slides. We are looking forward to the days we will be going out with our cameras!

"Girls may be subjected to violence, such a day may have been declared because they are not sent to school."

At the Art Workshop we run online, on October 11th, the International Day of the Girl Child, we talked about why such a day needed to be declared and we drew pictures on the subject.
TTM Volunteer

Between 29 September - 5 October, 56 people applied for TTM 2020 second term volunteer applications.

After we got back to the candidates, Naci Emre Boran and Berfin Karataş met online with them all on October 20, 22 and 23. At the meeting, apart from meeting each other we had a pleasant conversation on issues like volunteering, child safety and children's rights.

This format of the volunteer meetings, which were held face to face before the pandemic, was also quite enjoyable. It was also exciting to see the diverse areas where we can be together and produce!

The first volunteer training was done in October:

Child Safeguarding Training

13 volunteers participated in the training, which was led by Ebru Ergün and facilitated by Berfin Karataş. At the training, we talked about child safeguarding, child protection and the risks encountered when working with children and the policies developed for these risks through cases and scenarios.

Gender Training

16 volunteers participated in the training, which was led by Efsun Sertoğlu and facilitated by Berfin Karataş. We discussed and thought together on the concept of gender, fundamental notions of the binary gender concept and the construction process of gender. We will meet again soon to talk about gender based violence and the fight against gender inequality!
