Please note that due to various issues for request for support by members in the past for the Law Society of NSW and the NSW Bar Association elections, the following policy was adopted by WLANSW as noted in the minutes of 11 June 2013. “A list of names only of any person who is a current member and was a member in the previous financial year at least, will be published in an enews around the time of the elections.”  As it has not been publically advised previously, current members have been included in the above list regardless of their membership standing in the immediate past financial year. Please note that this policy will be adhered to in all future requests and it is the responsibility of the member to ensure their membership remains current.
‘Adopting a More Conscious Approach to Better Decision Making: Counteracting Unconscious Bias in the Legal Profession’: Heather Price, CEO, Symmetra

We make errors of judgement every single day because of the design of the machinery of our thinking. Whilst we can’t rewire our brains to eradicate unconscious bias, we can subject all our talent management, practice management and legal decisions to greater scrutiny to counteract unconscious bias from impacting on the quality of these decisions, and in so doing, optimise performance. This session will explore the cycle of bias in the legal profession and how to construct a decision making process that counteracts it.

5.30pm Tuesday 13th October 2015 Bartier Perry, L10, 77 Castlereagh Street, Sydney

Developing a career that brings meaning and fulfilment to our work is important to many women. It has become apparent to many of us that our path to career fulfilment is quite different to that of men in the same field.  We receive different messages growing up. We have a wider range of responsibilities such as childcare, elder care and other home responsibilities that are still strongly associated with women.
The Skirting Leadership MasterClass helps you understand and defuse the limitations you may be placing on yourself; the limitations that stand in the way of you making your unique contribution and creating a career with the meaning and fulfilment you seek.
