Dear CSI Friends, Partners, and Donors:

As the year winds down, Childbirth Survival International in-country teams are steadily pedaling on because when lives are at risk, which is everyday, there is not an option to do anything else except what's best to save that one life and the next one.

We hope you enjoyed CSI Quarter III newsletter where we shared more about our concentrated efforts in changing, saving, and impacting lives in underserved communities including the launch of midwifery professional development training in Tanzania.

Charity is within us all and you too can do something today to help a pregnant woman, newborn baby, and/or young child in rural Tanzania, Uganda or Nigeria survive and thrive. Charity is the engine through which communities have been transformed and livelihoods significantly improved. #GivingTuesday is around the corner, the world's largest charity day and we hope you will be part of it to further support CSI programs.

#GivingTuesday: What is it? Why give?

#GivingTuesday, the one day the world speaks the same language of giving, charity, and making a difference for the poor and less privileged. The one day, the world asks: Why should mothers die giving birth, yet as little as $7 can increase their chances of surviving childbirth? Why should a girlchild skip school because of her monthly periods, yet as little as $5 can get her a reusable kit to last more than twelve months? Why should a pregnant woman give birth without a skilled birth attendant, yet as little as $250 trains a certified midwife to provide quality and respectful maternity care? Why should diarrhea, pneumonia, or malaria be a child's worst enemy, yet there are extremely low-cost basic interventions?

#GivingTuesday, lets you help organizations like Childbirth Survival International reach the unreached - the pregnant woman needing magnesium sulfate; the newborn baby needing resuscitation; the child needing immunizations against killer diseases; the girlchild eager to learn needing reusable sanitary pads; and more. Together, we can make a difference.
